I have an English minor! It’s not printed on my degree, so I will take any chance to bring it up. I completed my English minor at Oxford University in Oxford, England where I studied Shakespeare and Virginia Woolf.
My interests in English include literary history, especially ancient classics and modern fiction, horror in comparative literature, and feminist horror focused on witches, vampires, and pregnancy.
Why is this cool?
Some highlights from the classes were:
Touring Virginia Woolf and her sister, Vanessa Bell’s, houses in Sussex, England
Saw Shakespeare plays at the Globe Theatre in London and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Brighton, England
Got my library card for the Bodleian Libraries in Oxford, England
Visited Shakespeare’s grave at the Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon, England
Some of the non-class-related highlights were:
Going to the Thames River to paint
Saw Twisters at the Oden theater in Oxford, England
A man with a typewriter wrote me a poem in Stratford, England, using the words red, clown, and glitter
Had tea with my professors
